Muscat – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) carried out an inspection campaign in shops for Omani dishdasha specifications on Monday.
In a statement, MoCIIP said, ‘In continuation of inspection campaigns carried out by the ministry, the Department of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in North Sharqiyah visited men’s tailoring and clothing shops to ensure compliance with the specifications of the Omani dishdasha.’
In 2021, H E Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, issued Ministerial Decision No 209/2021 rela- ted to Omani standards. The decision confirmed that the Omani standard specification No 1639 /2021 OS is binding for specifications of the Omani dishdasha.
The decision stipulates an administrative fine not exceeding RO1,000 for anyone who violates the provisions of the decision. The fine can be doubled in the event of repetition of the violation.
