MoH urges Hajj pilgrims to take necessary vaccines

5 Mar 2024

Muscat – The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced that all citizens and residents accepted for hajj this year must visit designated health institutions in their respective governorate to receive necessary vaccines.

Based on health requirements, MoH has specified that pilgrims must get quadric vaccination against meningococcal meningitis (ACYW135), which offers protection for a period of five years with one dose, and seasonal flu vaccine, which provides immunity and guards against potential complications.

MoH urged all citizens and residents who want to perform hajj this year to get vaccinated at least ten days before travelling.

These requirements are a prerequisite to enter Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs has announced that 33,536 individuals, including 3,606 expatriates, registered online for hajj this year.
