Muscat – To support university students facing financial challenges, Siraj Education Endowment Foundation has launched an app called ‘Siraj’.

The launch ceremony on Monday was held under the patronage of H E Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrooqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, who also serves as Chairperson of Board of Directors of the foundation.

According to Nasr Nasser al Rahbi, developer of the app, it is dedicated to collecting donations aimed at supporting university students with financial difficulties. “The goal of the application is to make higher education accessible to all young individuals, irrespective of their financial situations.”

He described the app as a platform for the community to directly contribute to supporting this specific demographic, striving to foster social justice and contribute to creating a more cohesive and progressive society.

Rahbi emphasised the fact that both individuals and companies can also make financial contributions directly through the donations page of Siraj Education Endowment Foundation’s website –

Additionally, he informed that donations will soon be facilitated for all cases through the Siraj app on Android and iOS smartphones.

Meanwhile, the foundation recently launched an initiative called ‘University Student Sponsorship’. It supports university students from financially disadvantaged or needy families, who study in private higher education institutions and do not receive financial support from other sources.

It provides monthly financial assistance – covering transportation, rent and living expenses – to enable students to focus on studies without worrying about financial problems.

Donations to Siraj foundation can be made through Meethaq A/C 0631500571440001.
