Muscat – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) seized 89,300 banned goods in Muscat in 2023.
According to CPA data, the authority recovered over RO1.2mn to compensate consumers and received 18,428 complaints in 2023.
CPA stated that the recovery of money aligns with the authority’s keenness to preserve the rights of consumers stipulated in the Consumer Protection Law and its executive regulations.
CPA called on all to cooperate to create a safe market that reassures and satisfies consumers. The authority and its departments in various governorates are working to meet its objectives of preserving the rights of consumers according to legal procedures in place in this regard, it stated.
