Muscat – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has successfully concluded the first edition of its Consumer-Friendly Establishments Initiative, a campaign aimed at fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in customer service across Oman.

The conclusion of the initiative was celebrated at a ceremony held at IntercityHotel Muscat on Sunday, with Sulayem bin Ali al Hikmani, Chairman of CPA, presiding over the event.

The event saw participation of CPA officials and representatives of a wide range of businesses, including commercial and industrial sectors, as well as automotive agencies.

Establishments that played a pivotal role in advancing the initiative’s goals were recognised and honoured at the event.

The initiative was designed to stimulate healthy competition among businesses, enhance the quality of services provided to consumers and minimise consumer grievances. It sought to raise consumer awareness about their rights and responsibilities, encourage businesses to adopt strategies that cater to consumer needs sustainably, and eventually contribute to a more dynamic and competitive market.

The initiative focused on customer-centric practices, effectiveness of customer satisfaction mechanisms, and innovation and development of services, assessing these through stages of recording, evaluation and analysis, with the outcomes shared with participating entities.

CPA underscored the initiative’s significant contribution to bolstering consumer trust and loyalty, advancing corporate sustainability and enhancing competitiveness of the Omani market.
