26 Feb 2024 Charity exhibition supports disabled children

Muscat – The Association for Children with Disabilities inaugurated the tenth edition of the Tadhaman Charity Exhibition at Al Shafaq Club in Muscat on Monday, reflecting continued efforts to support children with disabilities.

Over the course of three days, the exhibition aims to raise awareness in the community on disability issues, champion the rights of individuals with disabilities, and present products and services designed for them.

Khadija bint Nasser al Saati, Chairperson of the association, highlighted the exhibition’s objectives. “Tadhaman is not just an event; it’s a movement to create greater social awareness and enhance communication between the public and various organisations and charities committed to the welfare of people with disabilities,” she stated.

A key objective of the exhibition is to raise donations and financial support for initiatives that improve the living standards of disabled persons, Khadija added.

Eighty entrepreneurs are participating and showcasing the vital role of Omani women and small to medium enterprises in the trade and local manufacturing sectors.

Khadija also pointed out the significant impact of the exhibition in bolstering rehabilitation, training and therapeutic services for children of the association, with proceeds aiding both the association’s programmes and the participating small and medium enterprises.

The association serves approximately 400 children aged five to 14 across nine centres in Seeb, Barka, Musannah, Azaiba, Quriyat, Jalan Bani Bu Hasan, Dhank, Yanqul and Saham.

It promotes human values and the culture of philanthropy and voluntary support among various social segments and private sector institutions, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of children with disabilities through its diverse initiatives and programmes.
