Muscat – National Hospitality Institute (NHI) signed an agreement at its headquarters in Wadi Kabir on Thursday with the prestigious Ecole Hoteliere de Paris which will allow students from Oman learn directly from French hospitality sector experts.
The landmark agreement will open doors for Omani students to explore international opportunities.
One of the key features of this collaboration is the introduction of an international internship exchange programme enabling students from both institutions to gain hands-on experience in diverse cultural settings, broadening their perspective and enhancing practical skills in the hospitality sector.
“I am thrilled to be associated with one of the best hotel schools in France,” said Robert Maclean, Principal of NHI, at the agreement signing. “This partnership will add tremendous value to our students in Oman, not only by enhancing their academic journey but also by facilitating cultural exchange that goes beyond classrooms. Together, we are creating a dynamic environment that fosters innovation, global perspectives and prepares students to excel in the evolving landscape of the industry.”
The partnership aims to jointly issue completion certificates for specific programmes, providing graduates globally recognised qualification. A highlight of the collaboration includes exclusive master classes conducted by seasoned Parisian professors. These classes promise to offer a unique and enriching learning experience, bringing the essence of French hospitality education to students in Oman.
On the occasion, H E Veronique Aulagnon, Ambassador of France to Oman, said, “I am proud to witness the collaboration between NHI and Ecole Hoteliere de Paris. This marks the first time such an alliance has been formed between one of the oldest schools in France and an educational institution in Oman. I anticipate that this will not only create more job opportunities for Omani students but also contribute to strengthening cultural ties between Oman and France.”
