Muscat – India’s Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of Oman and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India.

The MoU, inked on December 15 last year, aims to foster collaboration and cooperation in the field of information technology.

According to a Government of India press release, the comprehensive cooperation outlined in the MoU covers a spectrum of activities, including mutual support, sharing of technologies, information exchange, and investments in the IT sector.

The approval is expected to strengthen ties between the two countries, promoting bilateral collaboration in both government-to-government and business-to-business (B2B) sectors, Press Information Bureau of India stated.

The MoU will come into effect from the date of signature of both parties and remain in force for a period of three years.

The MoU envisages improved collaboration leading to employment opportunities in the field of IT.
