Muscat – Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, met Dr Madiha bint Ahmed al Shaibani, Minister of Education, on Thursday to discuss efforts to improve educational facilities in the governorate.
The meeting was in line with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s Royal directives emphasising purposeful interaction between service unit heads and governors.
The agenda of the meeting included a comprehensive review of the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) plans and developmental projects in various educational fields within Muscat governorate. A visual presentation showcased the ministry’s objectives and key statistics, highlighting its commitment to activating partnerships between MoE and the governorates.
The meeting focused on the importance of digital transformation and integration of modern technologies in educational curriculum. It also examined MoE’s policies on recruitment and transfer, as well as the pivotal role of the ‘Specialist Centre for Professional Training of Teachers’ in enhancing teachers’ performance.
Additionally, discussions were held on the ministry’s approach to curriculum development, educational evaluation and tracking student performance levels. Developmental projects in Muscat governorate, aligned with the 10th Five-Year Plan, were also reviewed, including improvements in school transportation and aspects of educational expenditure.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed bin Mohammed al Humaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, walis and officials representing the governorate and MoE, underscoring the collaborative efforts to advance the educational sector in Muscat and reflecting a shared commitment to fostering an environment conducive to learning.
