Muscat – The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority of Oman (CDAA) has activated its services in Jabal Akhdar under the latest administrative structure after it was declared a wilayat last year.
A statement issued by CDAA said, ‘The authority has officially activated fire, rescue, and ambulance services at the newly inaugurated Civil Defence and Ambulance Center in the wilayat of Jabal Akhdar. This development is a step in the authority’s comprehensive plan to extend critical services across wilayats within Dakhliyah governorate and throughout Oman.’
In its latest operation, the authority personnel rescued an injured woman from a mountainous area in South Sharqiyah on Monday.
‘The team from the authority carried out a rescue operation for a woman who fell from the mountain in Mibam village in the niyabat of Tiwi and provided her with emergency medical care. She was taken to Sur Hospital for the necessary treatment,’ it stated.
The CDAA has called on all mountaineers to register their details on the NIDAA app prior to venturing out on any adventure trip.
‘Before you start your adventure, register the location and the participants on the NIDAA app. Adventure seekers should take advantage of the app as it is meant to ensure that rescue teams arrive faster in the event of an emergency,’ it stated. The app can be downloaded from https://t.co/UTfDUsJHUk
