Muscat – To facilitate self-employment and support jobseekers, a national freelancing platform called Dawam will be launched on Tuesday.
Dawam will serve as a comprehensive database of experts from various fields and specialisations, including retirees and jobseekers.
The platform will be inaugurated under the patronage of H H Sayyid Kamil bin Fahd al Said, Assistant Secretary-General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, in the presence of H E Dr Mahad bin Said Ba’owain, Minister of Labour, and H H Sayyida Meyyan bint Shihab al Said, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Dawam.
Speaking to Muscat Daily, a Dawam official said, “Several government agencies and private sector firms are involved in it.”
The platform will offer experts an opportunity to provide their services to both the public and private sectors. This will contribute to enhancing cooperation between the two sectors and promote sustainable development in the sultanate.
The official explained that Dawam will serve the labour market by providing comprehensive solutions, including employment and freelance opportunities. “Through Jobs Gateway, we link skilled individuals with thrilling job openings in diverse industries, empowering them to advance their careers.”
It will also bring together a diverse community of experts, freelancers, consultants and businesses, while encouraging collaboration in various sectors to achieve Oman Vision 2040, particularly in the fields of technology, communications and digital services.
According the official, the main goal of the platform is to bridge the gap between talent and opportunities, facilitating meaningful connections and enabling individuals and businesses to flourish in today’s dynamic job market.
While facilitating collaborations between clients and freelance consultants, Dawam will give access to a wide range of talent, including designers, developers, writers and marketers, and allow informed decisions based on the experiences and recommendations of other clients.
