Muscat – Muscat Governorate is organising a specialised training programme titled ‘Local Administration’, with a priority to develop sustainable governorates and cities, at the training centre of the Ministry of Interior.
The training programme will last for two weeks – from January 21 to 31. It targets members of the decentralised administration in Muscat governorate who hold senior supervisory positions such as governors and general managers, for intermediate positions such as deputy governors and directors, and direct supervisory roles such as department heads in various structural divisions in the governorate.
The programme aims to qualify and empower participants with skills and best practices in local administration, which will contribute positively to local development achievement in Muscat governorate and its competitiveness enhancement.
It will address various topics, most notably, defining the nature of local administration, its origin and history, and its general foundations and principles’ clarification besides local administration governance in the Sultanate of Oman.
Additionally, it will touch upon the role of the local administration in Oman Vision 2040 achievement and its supreme purposes in the Omani public sector, as well as the directional planning of the governorate and projects, and the professional competencies of members of local administrations in Oman.
The training programme relies on various educational methods’ application, such as interactive lectures and practical applications to enhance the scientific aspect.
