Muscat –  Wakan village, in the Wilayat of Nakhal, Governorate of South Batinah, has been witnessing a large turnout of domestic as well as foreign visitors during the winter season.

During 2023, the number of visitors to Wakan village exceeded 32,000 visitors belonging to different nationalities, according to the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.

Dr Al Mutasim Nasser al Hilali, director general of Heritage and Tourism in the Governorate of South Batinah said that the weather in Wakan is relatively cold, which is similar to the weather in some villages of the Wilayat Jabal Akhdar .
