Muscat – The Association for Children with Disabilities will organise a charity carnival at Oman Automobile Association in Muscat from January 10 to 13.
The sixth edition of the carnival will be inaugurated by Lujaina Mohsin Haider Darwish.
Speaking to Muscat Daily, Khadija bint Nasser al Saati, Chairperson of Board of Directors of the association, said, “The four-day carnival, open daily from 4pm to 10pm, aims to raise funds to support children with disabilities. A total of 40 entrepreneurs will participate in the carnival.”
It will feature multiple sections offering a diverse range of products, besides electronic games and food corners. Proceeds from the carnival, including space rental fees for small and medium-sized enterprises, will be directed to the association.
Khadija informed that the carnival will also include activities such as horse riding, motorcycle rides, face painting, theatrical performances and a special corner for female vocational students’ crafts.
The association currently serves about 400 children, aged five to 14, through nine centres located in the wilayats of Seeb, Barka, Musannah, Azaiba, Quriyat, Jalan Bani Bu Hasan, Dhank, Yanqul and Saham.
It has been actively promoting human values and a culture of donating and providing voluntary support to children among various segments of society and private sector entities.
“We call on everyone to participate in the carnival and support children with disabilities,” Khadija urged.
