MoH introduces e-certification for medical exams

6 Jan 2024 By

Muscat – The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced a significant advancement in healthcare services with the introduction of an electronic certification service for medical examinations. Starting Sunday, this new system will be operational for examinations conducted by Gulf Health Council (GCC)-accredited centres.

This initiative is set to revolutionise the processing of healthcare transactions, aiming to improve efficiency and speed within the healthcare system, MoH stated.

From January 7, individuals seeking medical examination certifications can access these through the ministry’s health portal or at Sanad offices. This development eliminates the need for physical visits to MoH’s medical fitness examination centres, thereby streamlining the process significantly.

The electronic certification service specifically addresses medical exams conducted by GCC-accredited centres. This strategic move is expected to ensure more seamless procedures and faster issuance of health-related certifications.

Additionally, the ministry has introduced a new feature on its portal, allowing citizens and residents to validate sick leaves issued by private medical institutions within the sultanate. This digital verification system can be accessed conveniently through the MoH portal, marking another step towards digital integration in healthcare services.

These enhancements by MoH reflect a commitment to leverage technology to improve health services, ensure convenience and promote efficiency in the health sector.
