Muscat – The Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has decided to prepare a study report on business competitiveness that can be used as a reference for various agencies in the country to improve their business environment and attractiveness.

The board, during its eighth meeting of the year, headed by Faisal Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors, approved the issuance of a tender for the study of the challenges in the financing and economic diversification sectors.

The board acknowledged the government’s interest in supporting the private sector and enabling it to support Oman’s economy in a bigger way.

The sector witnessed tangible and effective activities during the year 2023.

The board, in the same meeting, approved the chamber’s budget for the year 2024, an official informed.

The budget report focused on projects, activities and events to be taken up during the coming year, in order to achieve the chamber’s strategic goals.

The budget report presented a roadmap for the chamber to expand the base of economic diversification at the governorate level.

The meeting also discussed issues related to economic affairs, supporting the business environment, enhancing partnership and cooperation with various parties, while reviewing the extent of support extended by various governorates.

The board confirmed that the chamber’s general budget for the year 2024 will enhance economic activities across the sultanate.
