Muscat – Oman received the 2023 Excellence Award from World Health Organization on Wednesday. The award was conferred on Oman, represented by the Ministry of Health, in recognition of the country’s continuous efforts to combat non-communicable diseases.
The award represents a step forward in Oman’s efforts to meet sustainable development goals. It also highlights the Ministry of Health’s success in promoting different aspects of health as part of the Renewed Renaissance march.
It places Oman in the ranks of developed nations. The award was presented by Dr Jean Jabour, Representative of WHO in the sultanate, and was received by Dr Badria Mohsen al Rashidi, Director General of Primary Health Care in the Ministry of Health.
