Sayyid Theyazin conveys H M the Sultan’s greetings to Putin
Moscow – Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, conveyed greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, in Moscow.
His Majesty the Sultan also wished the Russian President good health and happiness and further progress and prosperity to the people of Russia.
On his part, Putin asked Sayyid Theyazin to convey his greetings to His Majesty the Sultan, and wished the Omani people continued progress and prosperity.
Sayyid Theyazin and Putin met at the Russia Calling! VTB Investment Forum on Thursday where the latter said Russia and Oman have good prospects for developing cooperation in energy and tourism.
“Our companies have shown interest in working in the energy sphere,” Putin said at the meeting with Sayyid Theyazin.
Trade between the two countries has “so far been modest,” Putin said. “But it is developing actively. It rose several times over in the first nine months of the current year.”
Sayyid Theyazin highlighted the need to create new international economic centres situated in Asia and Africa, “bearing in mind the factors of population, natural riches and resources”.
“Given the strategic location of the Middle East, this region’s participation in strategic logistics and infrastructure projects appears promising,” he said.
