Salalah – Port of Salalah received a cruise ship with 1,457 people on board, including 807 tourists, on Saturday.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism said the cruise ship – called Bolette – came from Jeddah Islamic Port and is heading to Mumbai, India.
The tourist activities for the cruise passengers included visits to important archaeological and historical landmarks for which Dhofar is famous, in addition to visiting beaches and traditional souqs in Salalah.
‘A cruise ship coming from Greece will also arrive at Port of Salalah on Sunday, carrying more than 4,500 people, including approximately 3,000 tourists,’ the ministry statement added.
Oman is witnessing the number of cruise ships arriving annually increase due to its distinguished maritime location overlooking the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman.
