Muscat – The Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance hosted the fifth regional conference of the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education on Wednesday at Kempinski Hotel in Muscat.
The conference, titled ” Foreseeing the future of higher education quality: The impact of smart technologies and the international dimension on the quality of education,” aimed to explore and discuss the increasing role of smart technologies in improving global education quality.
The two-day conference was opened under the patronage of H E Dr Khamis bin Saif al Jabri, Head of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit.
More than 250 stakeholders in the higher education sector from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman participated in the event. The conference addressed the challenges and opportunities that the educational system may face in ensuring the quality of education amidst rapid technological developments.
This conference, organised for the first time in Oman, stands as a key pillar in building knowledge societies and achieving sustainable development. It contributes to the integration of visions for developing and enhancing the quality of higher education while staying abreast of the latest developments in smart technologies—an essential component of this developmental process.
