Muscat – Oman is embarking on a special campaign in two key European countries from Thursday to woo foreign tourists.
In an effort to bolster the country’s tourism by highlighting Oman’s unique travel experiences around the world, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is launching this promotional campaign in Italy and Germany.
The campaign, scheduled to run for a week, will see Oman’s rich heritage, natural landscapes, and adventure tourism showcased in Milan, Rome, Berlin, and Munich.
Haitham bin Muhammad al Ghassani, Director General of Promotion at the ministry, said through this campaign, the ministry is looking to establish direct communication channels with leading tourism companies in Italy and Germany.
“We aim to present the exceptional tourism experiences that Oman offers, focusing on our country’s rich heritage and natural wonders.”
The campaign will see participation of 22 Omani tourism institutions for exploring business partnerships when they engage in open dialogues with 270 Italian and 150 German institutions.
These workshops and meetings are part of a strategic effort to attract European tourists, particularly those drawn to winter destinations.
Recent statistics underscore the campaign’s significance, revealing a surge in European visitors to Oman.
The number of German tourists soared to 95,623 till September this year, marking a 240% increase from the same period in 2022. Similarly, the number of Italian visitors also saw a 279% jump with total number reaching 46,056 as against 12,155 recorded last year.
These figures reflect people’s growing interest in Oman as a travel destination and underscore its potential for further growth through promotions.
