Muscat – The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT) has mandated that all orange and white taxis operating in public places must join licensed applications by January 1, 2024.

This is the third phase of MTCIT’s initiative to regulate taxi services in Oman. The licensed applications listed by the ministry are OmanTaxi, OTaxi, Marhaba, Hala, and Tasleem.

The first phase began on October 1, included taxis operating at airports. Phase II launched on November 1, targeted taxis operating at hotels, commercial centres and ports.
