Muscat – The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, is participating in the twenty-third global summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council under the slogan ‘Building Bridges for a Sustainable Future.’ The summit commenced its deliberations today in the capital of the Republic of Rwanda, Kigali.

Heads of states and delegations from all over the world, along with as many as 100 business leaders and CEOs of major international companies, are taking part in the summit. Oman’s delegation is represented by Salim Mohammed al Mahrouqi, the Minister of Heritage and Tourism.

Participation in the world summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council is part of the tireless efforts to enhance the presence of the Sultanate of Oman in tourism organizations as a prestigious tourist destination in the region. It aims to be a center of attraction for international investments and events.

This summit and its accompanying events provide an opportunity to communicate with leaders in the travel and tourism industry at the regional and international levels. It also offers a chance to review investment opportunities that will contribute to enhancing tourism products and services, achieving the desired diversification of the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

The summit aims to discuss how travel and tourism contribute to the development and sustainability of the economy, as well as their role in generating new job opportunities that contribute to the development of local communities through multiple sessions. The sessions explore ways of strategic cooperation in the tourism and travel sector and enhance its ability to face various future challenges.

Furthermore, the summit addresses the development and growth of the tourism sector, the search for attractions that keep pace with tourists’ requirements and meet their expectations. It also aims to strike a balance between sustainability and growth, promoting innovation through sustainable investments and addressing how to restore travel activity globally at a time when the sector has begun to return to its normal levels.
