Muscat – Oman, represented by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences Ibra, will host the NASA Space Apps Hackathon on October 7 and 8. As many as 185 countries are expected to take part in the event.
The event will be held in the wilayat of Bidiya, North Sharqiyah, in cooperation with NASA.
The hackathon will see participation of public and private establishments, as well as universities and colleges in Oman.
The hackathon targets innovators who are interested in space science and exploration. Participants will get a chance to develop creative solutions for different challenges that face the Earth and space, in order to qualify for participation in the NASA Space App International Hackathon.
By hosting of this event, Oman aims to enhance its position as a centre for technological innovation and research, and encourage cooperation between academic and industrial establishments locally and internationally.
