ICV of enterprises in Oman exceeds RO9bn in Q2 2023

Muscat – The total in-country value (ICV) of active enterprises in the sultanate during the second quarter of 2023 reached RO9.09bn, according to the monthly bulletin issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.

The contribution of active enterprises to the gross domestic product at current prices in the second quarter of 2023 reached 90.1% compared to 86.1% in the second quarter of 2022.

The ICV of large enterprises amounted to RO6.42bn, constituting 63.7% of the total, down 12.7% compared to the corresponding period in 2022.

The ICV of medium enterprises amounted to RO724.6mn, constituting 7.2% of the total, up 10.1%. The ICV of small enterprises stood at RO851.6mn, or 8.4% of the total, up 30.5%.

The total ICV of micro enterprises reached RO1.093bn, comprising 10.8% of the total, marking an increase of 36.8% compared to the corresponding period of 2022.

The number of employees in active enterprises in Oman increased 11.1% to 1,772,582 in the second quarter of 2023 compared to 1,595,925 employees in the second quarter of 2022.

The number of private enterprises totalled 227,609 in the second quarter of 2023, up 13.5% compared to the same period of 2022.
