Muscat – South Batinah governorate is set to launch multiple development projects in 2024.
Highlighting upcoming enhancements in the wilayat of Nakhal, an official of the governorate informed that key projects include renovation of entrance to the governorate, paving internal roads and creation of two parks in residential neighbourhoods.
According to the official, a number of projects are currently underway throughout the governorate, such as the Ain al Thuwara development and internal road works, including the design and paving of additional internal road links, parking lots for schools and health institutions, upgrading a walkway and installing 12 kiosks.
The official also informed about completion of several projects in Nakhal. These are development of Nakhal Market, addition of public facilities and parks in Wadi Mistal and Khubat al Qa’dan, and construction of the first phase of a walkway.
More development projects – initial phase of Rimal Park and enhancement of Nakhal Public Park – are in the analysis or tender stages.
These expansive projects align with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s substantial increase in the Governorate Development Programme allocation. The funding was increased from RO10mn to RO20mn for every governorate for the current Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), effective from 2022.
