Muscat – As many as 848kg of kingfish were caught out of season by a fish control team in the wilayat of Mahout for illegal fishing.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources said in a statement: ‘The fish control team in Al Wusta governorate managed to seize 848kgs of kingfish in the wilayat of Mahout as they were caught outside the season.’

Legal procedures are being completed against the violators, it stated.
