Food and Hospitality exhibition opens at OCEC

Muscat – The 16th edition of Food and Hospitality Oman (FHO) started on Monday at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC).

The three-day event, focused on innovations and collaborations, is backed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

Organised by CONNECT, the event was inaugurated by H E Dr Saud bin Hamood bin Ahmed al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

The exhibition features a broad range of participants with exhibitors from 13 countries.

‘Food and Hospitality Oman 2023 seeks to elevate the role of the private sector in our local economy. We offer small and medium enterprises a closer look at the latest technologies and global brands. Here, they can gather valuable insights and experiences. We urge everyone to seize this chance to meet new brands, forge partnerships and establish business deals,’ a ministry statement said.

After the opening ceremony, dignitaries explored the exhibition, getting a close look at the international food and hospitality sector. FHO hosts companies from numerous countries including China, India, the UAE and Belgium.

FHO showcases a wide range of products and services, from food and beverage to hotel supplies and restaurant solutions. Attendees get an opportunity to network, discover new products and learn about industry trends. Aligned with Oman Vision 2040, FHO aims to boost economic growth and encourage cultural exchanges in the food, hospitality and tourism sectors.

Additionally, the FHO Knowledge Hub hosts a series of seminars and conferences. These address the Omani hospitality industry’s opportunities and challenges. Topics of discussion on the agenda range from sustainable agriculture and the impact of data analytics on customer service, to challenges in achieving food security. Day 2 promises discussions on SME growth and best practices for customer experience, while culinary experts will unveil the artistry behind popular dishes.

The final day will focus on the future, discussing technology in food retail and the importance of sustainable food practices.
