Muscat – The 12th edition of Oman Health Exhibition and Conference (OHEC) was inaugurated on Monday at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The event, which will run until September 20, is organised by CONNECT and the Ministry of Health. OHEC is backed by key health authorities, including the Directorate General of Quality Assurance Centre (DGQAC) and Directorate General of Pharmaceutical Affairs and Drug Control.

DGPADC emphasised its commitment to Oman’s health sector in a statement: ‘OHEC is our nation’s leading healthcare and medical gathering. Our primary objective is to ensure the safety, efficacy and quality of pharmaceutical products and medical devices in the sultanate. We are proud to participate and oversee adherence to regulations.’

Post the inaugural ceremony, visitors toured the exhibition, witnessing the latest innovations in healthcare. This year, OHEC boasts participation of over 160 entrepreneurs and medical institutions, including entities from India, the UK, Malaysia and Lebanon. Over 6,000 visitors and 800 conference delegates are expected at the event.

A key highlight of the event is the presence of a Malaysian delegation led by Farizal B Jaafar, Acting CEO of Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council, who shared valuable insights into Malaysia’s evolving healthcare landscape and its commendable progress.
