Muscat – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY) is set to open registration for the fourth edition of the Youth Excellence Award 2023 on Monday. Registration will remain open until October 3.
The announcement was made during a press conference conducted by the ministry at the Youth Centre on Sunday, where details of the award were revealed.
Hamoud bin Salem al Jabri, Assistant Director General of Directorate General of Youth at MCSY, said, “The Youth Excellence Award has been our way of recognising the commendable contributions of Omani youth.”
Coinciding with Omani Youth Day on October 26, the award serves as a testament to the significance of young individuals collaborating for societal betterment. It also recognises institutions that go the extra mile in fostering youth engagement and promoting a level playing field for both individual youths and organisations to deliver notable community contributions.
Jabri informed that the award focuses on five main areas – digital media, digital economy, employment, environmental initiatives and entrepreneurship.
The competition is open to five categories – individuals, youth-led initiatives, youth organisations, civil society entities and private-sector firms championing youth-focused endeavours.
