Salalah – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) seized over 13,000 unfit goods from shops during khareef in Dhofar governorate, the authority sated.
‘Besides 13,262 unfit goods, CPA recovered RO34,349 in favour of consumers during the khareef season. The authority also conducted 11,914 inspection campaigns and received 635 complaints,’ a statement said.
The authority is monitoring activities at various markets and commercial centres in the governorate with the objective of maintaining price stability and ensuring that suppliers comply with the Consumer Protection Law and its regulations, it added.
The authority has booked several people representing different commercial establishments for various types of violations.
Violators were arrested and released following application of legal measures.
