Muscat – In a move to enhance public recreational spaces, the Office of the Governor of North Batinah has announced plans to establish six new parks across the governorate.
Eng Sulaiman Hamad al Sunaidi, Director General of North Batinah Municipality, confirmed that the tendering process for these parks has concluded. The central objective of choosing to have more parks is to augment the region’s green spaces, advance afforestation efforts, and align with international environmental standards.
This initiative not only revitalises existing green sites but also supports Oman’s 2050 goal of achieving carbon neutrality.
Key features of the six parks:
Waterfront Park, Shinas: Spanning 30,000sqm, this park will feature lush landscapes, shaded seating areas, children’s playgrounds, a prayer hall, and a fountain.
Jasmine Park, Suwaiq: Occupying 26,878sqm, the park will boast green spaces, areas for sports, children’s play zones, and other essential amenities.
Al Dhuwaihir Park, Khaboura: A 3,032sqm space with children’s play areas and essential facilities.
Al-Khuwairat Park, Khaboura: This extensive 57,000sqm area will encompass children’s playgrounds, investment sites, and more.
Al Bax Park, Khaboura: A more intimate 870sqm setting, complete with play zones for children and seating areas.
Makhailif Park, Saham: Covering 13,000sqm, visitors can expect children’s play areas, seating spots, and other essential services.
