Muscat – South Sharqiyah governorate, in cooperation with the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning, launched a competition aimed at designing beach huts and umbrellas, with a focus on young Omanis specialising in architectural planning, civil engineering, architecture, and design.
Eng Ahmed bin Khalfan al Shuaibi, Director of the Urban Planning Department in the South Sharqiyah governorate and Chairman of the committee overseeing the beach huts and umbrellas design competition, stated, ‘The competition’s concept stemmed from our genuine interest in Omani youth. We actively listen to them and leverage their ideas to fulfill the goals of the Oman 2040 vision and prioritise the development of our governorates.”
He explained that the competition aims to provide the tourism sector in the governorate with modern and innovative projects.
