Muscat – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism observed Omani Associations Day on Tuesday to bolster local association networks, foster collaborative ties and facilitate an exchange of knowledge – all with an aim to promote the sultanate as a Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) destination.
Held under the patronage of H E Azzan bin Qassim al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Tourism in MHT, the event witnessed the participation of several professional associations.
Such initiatives reiterate Oman’s aspirations to be recognised as a centre for association activities while enhancing international dialogue and cooperation, MHT stated.
Sharing insights into the event’s conception, Khalid al Zadjali, Director of Conferences at MHT, said, “This gathering was orchestrated to shine a light on avenues for local associations to refine their operations and amplify member services. It’s about drawing from global best practices and making these resonate on home ground.”
Zadjali also underscored the crucial role of local entities in maintaining robust ties with international networks, advocating for proactive engagement in global events.
The day was structured around three thought-provoking sessions.
