Muscat – The Ministry of Health (MoH), represented by the Directorate General of Specialised Medical Care, signed an agreement with Al Jisr Charitable Foundation on Wednesday to fund the expansion of the Special Care Baby Unit at Ibra Hospital at a cost of RO250,000.

The agreement was signed by H E Dr Fatima Mohammed al Ajmi, Undersecretary for Administrative, Planning and Financial Affairs in MoH, and Nouf al Hosni from Al Jisr Charitable Foundation.

Praising the foundation’s initiative, H E Dr Ajmi stressed the importance of partnerships between the government and private sectors in the sultanate to serve the public interest.

“The signing of the agreement is part of a strategic partnership aimed at achieving the common good of the community and upgrading public welfare services and developmental projects across the sultanate,” she added.

On her part, Nouf highlighted the foundation’s role in supporting the community through its contributions to the health sector. She confirmed the foundation’s commitment to work with the ministry on important health projects.

Stressing the importance of funding the unit for premature babies at Ibra Hospital, she said it would improve the hospital by adding capacity to the unit.
