Muscat – The Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED), in partnership with Dhofar Municipality, has initiated a marketing activity by allocating an integrated space for owners of SMEs to display their products at Nawafeth Park in Salalah.

Musallam Farah al Maashani, head of Department of Small and Medium Enterprises Development in Dhofar, said, “This marketing initiative involves more than 50 SME projects in various activities through mobile carts, in addition to accompanying events to add some kind of entertainment and fun to site visitors.”

He explained that the initiative – lasting till the end of August – aims to enable business owners and women to display and market their products and showcase their services to visitors.

Maashani also informed that Nawafeth Park recently saw the opening of the FabTech mobile laboratory, a collaborative project organised by InnoTech and ASMED, funded by BP Oman.

According to Maashani, the FabTech mobile laboratory aims to foster the culture of industrialisation by promoting adoption of Artificial Intelligence and the technologies integral to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The laboratory is not merely a technological exhibition but an educational initiative featuring all the essential tools for modern manufacturing. It has been designed to enrich the scientific knowledge of participants, develop their technical skills and prepare them for the requirements of a rapidly evolving era.

“The target demographic of the laboratory is broad, aiming to engage school and university students between the ages of 10 and 20,” Maashani said.
