Muscat – The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology is making strides in Dhofar Governorate as they kickstart the Harweb-Al Mazyunah-Meiten road project.
This pivotal project, represented by the Director General of Roads and Land Transport, stands out as a cornerstone of the ministry’s strategic efforts for the current year.
Stretching over 210 km, the Harweb-Al Mazyunah-Meiten road project starts from the Harweb area concludes in the Meiten area in the wilayat of Al Mazyunah. This road consists of a pair of traffic lanes, each with a width of 3.5 meters. Accompanying these lanes are asphalt shoulders, each measuring half a meter, while the dirt shoulders on either side are one and a half meters wide.
The road’s construction meticulously follows the standard specifications detailed in the Road Design Manual. To ensure safety, the project includes the installation of concrete and metal barriers, directional markers, and ground markings for guidance and caution.
The construction project for the Harweb-Al-Mazyunah-Meiten road is considered as a significant connecting route in the Dhofar governorate. This initiative is set to streamline traffic circulation among various areas within the wilayat of Al Mazyunah, strengthening social ties and stimulating commercial and economic movement with the rest of the wilayats across the Sultanate of Oman.
