Muscat – The Ministry of Health signed an agreement on Sunday with Oman India Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO) and Oman Liquefied Natural Gas (Oman LNG) to fund the establishment of a dialysis unit project at Bidiyah Hospital, North Sharqiyah.
H E Dr Fatima Mohammed al Ajmi, Undersecretary of Health for Administrative, Planning, and Financial Affairs, along with Abdullah Humaid Salim al Hashami, OMIFCO’s Chief Financial Officer, and Dr Amor al Matani, CEO of Oman LNG Development Foundation, signed the agreement. H E Sheikh Mansoor al Hajri, a member of the Majlis A’Shura representing Bidiyah, was also present at the signing ceremony.
Dr Fatima stressed the importance of government and other sectors partnership in the Sultanate of Oman to achieve the public interest’s needs, praising meanwhile OMIFCO and Oman LNG initiative to finance the establishment of dialysis unit in Bidiyah Hospital.
Dr Al Ajmi highlighted the importance of partnerships between the government and different sectors in Oman to fulfill the needs of the public. At the same time, she praised the efforts of OMIFCO and Oman LNG for funding the creation of a dialysis unit at Bidiyah Hospital.
Dr Al Ajmi stated that the agreement signing is part of a strategic partnership to enhance the common good of the community and improve public welfare services and development projects across Oman. She confirmed that establishing a dialysis unit in Bidiyah was one of the ministry’s top-priority projects, aimed at serving the people of North Sharqiyah governorate.
Abdullah Humaid Salim Al Hashami, Chief Financial Officer at OMIFCO, expressed pride in partnering with the Ministry of Health to assist in establishing a dialysis unit at Bidiyah Hospital. “This collaboration aims to enhance healthcare services for kidney failure patients in North Sharqiyah governorate.”
Al Hashami highlighted that the agreement’s signing aligns with OMIFCO’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, particularly in the realm of improving quality of life through supporting the healthcare sector.
Commenting on the agreement, Dr Amor al Matani, CEO of Oman LNG Development Foundation, stated, “Oman LNG has consistently placed emphasis on the health sector as a primary focus. This support signifies our commitment to the strategic partnership between the company and the Ministry of Health. The kidney dialysis unit refurbishment project aims to equip the unit with cutting-edge technical services and advanced medical equipment, with the goal of accommodating more patients, improving healthcare provision, and reducing waiting times. This initiative complements Oman LNG’s previous funding for kidney dialysis units in Dhofar and Muscat.”
