OCCI’s forum on tourism to begin from Monday

Muscat – A two-day forum for the promotion of tourism industry is beginning at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center on Monday.

Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will host the Muscat Exhibition and Forum for Tourism Investment Opportunities under the patronage of H E Salim bin Mohammad al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.

Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman, OCCI, along with other dignitaries and board members will attend the inauguration event.

Several Omani companies, investors, and their counterparts from the GCC and friendly nations including Russia and Thailand are taking part in the forum, officials informed.

The forum aims to serve as a platform to showcase lucrative prospects awaiting potential investors in the tourism sector. These opportunities encompass development of resorts, hotels, integrated recreational cities, waterparks and other innovative projects linked to tourism.

In addition to exploring investment avenues, the forum will delve into the realm of sports. The sultanate will present its vision for the establishment of sports medical cities and hosting international tournaments and sports events.

As part of the forum, OCCI will facilitate bilateral meetings between investors and companies. These sessions will shed light on Oman’s foreign investment law and honour pioneers in the fields of tourism and real estate investment in the sultanate.

An exhibition will also be held parallelly, officials informed.
