Muscat – The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued an advisory for visitors traveling to Dhofar during the khareef season. Motorists are asked to ensure that their vehicle’s licence plate is not obscured by dust or mud, which could hide the vehicle’s identification number.
The ROP pointed out that keeping the licence plate obscured, even partially, is considered a traffic violation. During the Khareef season, light rains in the Dhofar hills often result in vehicles getting covered in mud. This mud can sometimes blur the visibility of the licence plate.
The ROP has, therefore, advised motorists to ensure their vehicle’s licence plate remains visible at all times to adhere to traffic regulations.
