Muscat – Fourteen cricketers of Muscat’s Bosher Sports Center (BSC) are set to gain a unique experience as they head to the United States to play a series of matches.
The under-17 team is scheduled to play six matches in Dallas and Houston from July 27 to August 7. The opportunity comes on the invitation of the North Texas Cricket Association (NTCA).
The association is North Texas’ governing body for cricket and represents 65 clubs and 1,200 members. It is also responsible for organising all cricket events in a region of southern United States.
Excited about the tour, Sandesh Dhuri, head coach of BSC, informed that this is the second international trip of the year for the players. The first was to Hyderabad, India. “BSC is a leading cricket training centre in Muscat and we are delighted to offer this opportunity to our students. Our goal is to enhance the talent and skills of these young players by giving them global exposure. This enables them to compete with international talent and grow into notable sports persons who bring pride to Oman,” Dhuri said.
Since its inception in 2013, BSC has organised multiple overseas cricket tours to countries such as Australia, the UK, UAE, Sri Lanka, India and Qatar.
NTCA’s invitation for the tour in Texas was accepted as international tours provide invaluable exposure to young cricketers, Dhuri added.
His son and promising cricketer Nimish S Dhuri will lead the team in the six matches.
