Muscat – A popular destination for domestic tourism, Jabal Akhdar saw an influx of over 79,000 visitors during the first half of 2023, with Omani citizens constituting the majority. 

Data from National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) shows that 28,406 visitors were Omani. Among the Gulf countries, Saudi Arabia led with 3,848 visitors, followed by Kuwait (611), the UAE (329) and Qatar (265). Visitors of other nationalities totalled 45,302.
