Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik met Sheikh Saud bin Saqr al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, at Al Baraka Palace on Tuesday, along with his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr al Qasimi discussed relations binding the two countries. They explored various aspects of cooperation aimed at serving the mutual interests of Omani and UAE peoples. 

They also touched on a number of issues of concern for both the sides.

From the Omani side, the meeting was attended by Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior and Dr Hamad bin Said al Aufi, Head of the Private Office.

From the UAE side, the meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalid bin Saud al Qasimi; Sheikh Saqr bin Saud al Qasimi; Mohammed Hassan al Shamsi, Advisor to the Ruler; Mohammed Sultan al Qadhi, Advisor to the Ruler; Abdulaziz Abdullah al Za’abi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Real Estate; Ahmed Mohammed al Khatri, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Courts Department and Mohammed Ali al Nu’aimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Later, His Majesty the Sultan and the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah held a private meeting in the presence of Sayyid Theyazin, Sheikh Khalid and Sheikh Saqr.

Later in the day, His Majesty the Sultan hosted a luncheon in honour of Sheikh Saud. After that, His Majesty bid farewell to Sheikh Saud and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a safe return back home. His Majesty the Sultan also wished the UAE further progress and prosperity.

On his part, Sheikh Saud expressed his deep thanks to His Majesty the Sultan for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him. He wished His Majesty the Sultan good health, happiness and a long life. He also wished the Omani people more progress under the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan.
