Muscat – The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has announced its plan to host a special event focused on tourism sector in August this year.
The Muscat Awards exhibition and forum, to be hosted at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), will have spotlight on lucrative investment opportunities in the tourism sector, with a particular emphasis on sport tourism and real estate ventures in the sultanate.
Muscat Awards aims to showcase the abundance of available investment projects in Oman so as to attract foreign investments in this promising sector.
Faisal Abdullah al Rawas, chairman of OCCI, unveiled the plan and programme of the event during a press conference on Monday.
“The event will serve as a platform to highlight the diverse range of investment prospects, including the development of resorts, hotels, integrated recreational cities, waterparks, and other innovative projects in the tourism sector,” he said.
The forum will also explore opportunities in the field of sports. The sultanate will offer its vision for having sports medical cities, and hosting international tournaments and other events in Oman.
With an expected participation of 150 investors from Oman and other countries, the OCCI chairman expressed enthusiasm for the event’s global significance. The programme will feature panel discussions and witness the signing of key tourism agreements, fostering collaboration and propelling Oman’s tourism industry.
An exhibition will run alongside the forum, providing a platform to individuals and enterprises to showcase their ideas and explore investment opportunities.
Through Muscat Awards, the OCCI seeks to reaffirm its commitment to position Oman as a premier investment destination, unlocking the untapped potential in sport tourism and real estate.
