Muscat – Seven expatriates were arrested for violating the marine fishing law in Al Wusta governorate, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR).

A statement issued by MAFWR said, ‘The fisheries control team in the Directorate General of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources in Al Wusta governorate, in cooperation with the Coast Guard Police, arrested seven expatriate workers for violating the Law on Fishing and Protection of Marine Living Resources and the Labour Law in the Al Jazer area and seized three fishing boats.’

Legal action has been taken against the violators.
