Oman delegation attends Iran Expo inauguration

Tehran – The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP), attended the opening ceremony of Iran Expo 2023 in Tehran on Sunday.

The expo is seeing a turnout of more than 750 Iranian and international companies that showcase products from sectors such as industries, medicine, household appliances, foodstuffs and petrochemicals.

The Omani delegation was headed by H E Qais Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. Also present at the event were Ibrahim Ahmed al Mu’aini, Oman’s Ambassador to Iran; Faisal Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI); besides a number of Omani businessmen.

Iran Expo 2023 is an opportunity to learn about Iran’s industries, develop exports and open up new markets for Omani companies and investors. It offers further options to augment the volume of investment, diversify sources of import and export, forge strategic economic partnerships, and facilitate the smooth flow of goods and products between the two countries.

On the sidelines of the expo, the Omani delegation visited a number of Iranian factories and learnt about investment opportunities in various fields in the host country. The delegation also had meetings among the Omani and Iranian businessmen.

A meeting was also held with several Iranian companies, which expressed keenness to enter into partnerships with Omani companies. Oman’s import from Iran during 2022 stood at RO113mn, while the value of the total export to Iran was RO207mn.
