Muscat – The Ministry of Health (MoH) will take part in the first forum for people with disabilities organised by the Ministry of Social Development, which will kick off on Monday.
In this regard, Dr Thamra al Ghafri, Director General of Health Services of Muscat governorate and a member of the forum’s main committee, pointed out that the ministry will participate in the forum with four specific themes.
The first theme will last for three days from 10am to 10pm and highlight the ministry’s role in rehabilitation, genetic health, and prosthetics, as well as providing medical check-ups for blood pressure and diabetes for visitors.
The second theme will focus on various health issues and raise awareness and enhance the health programmes in providing the preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative aspects for people with disabilities. It will be conducted on Wednesday from 10am to 11.30pm.
The third theme will concentrate on preparatory workshops that will develop services and programmes for people with disabilities. The workshops aim to keep pace with Oman Vision 2040 to develop new initiatives and projects.
The fourth will focus on children’s motor and sensory development from birth, aiming to highlight some abnormal indicators of motor growth that may occur and the need for a medical consultation that may detect cases early.
