Muscat – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and ITB Berlin have announced that Oman will be the official host country of the world’s leading travel trade show in 2024.
“ITB Berlin is an important platform to showcase the wide variety of offerings of Oman’s growing tourism industry,” said H E Salim al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.
“We are pleased that in 2024, Oman will be the host nation and we are committed to offer an impressive and lasting experience at the event covering all possible senses and expectations,“ he added.
The minister signed a declaration of intent during an informal ceremony at ITB Berlin 2023 to be host nation of the 2024 edition.
Following signing of the agreement, David Ruetz, Senior Vice-President of Messe Berlin, said, “Oman has had a strong representation at ITB Berlin for many years and we are very impressed by the tourism attractions and diversity this travel destination has to offer.
“With the sultanate, we are delighted to have secured such an attractive partner for next year’s show.”
As the official host nation of ITB Berlin 2024, Oman will organise the opening ceremony on March 4 at CityCube Berlin, among other events. From March 5 to 7, Oman will present trade visitors a wide variety of programmes and numerous events.
