Muscat – H E Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI), has issued a ministerial decision (No 39/2023) suspending licences to establish private training institutions.

• Article 1 of the decision stipulates that requests for licences to establish private training institutions will be suspended temporarily for a period of three years.
• Article 2 states that the decision does not apply to applications submitted to the ministry prior to announcement of this decision.

The decision was issued on March 30 and came into force a day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
