Muscat – Musandam is currently witnessing the implementation of several development projects, according to Musandam Municipality.
Nasser Humaid al Hosni, Director General of Musandam Municipality, said that the municipality is working on developing a number of projects that serve the economic, tourism and social sectors of the governorate. “Some of the major development projects underway include a Kamzar village, construction of a floating pier in Khor Najd, the Khorsham mountain pass project, and a waterfront project in the wilayat of Dibba,” he said.
Ninety per cent of the Kamzar village in Khasab has been developed. The project includes a waterfront, construction of a children’s park and a sea wall. The Khorsham mountain pass is designed to the latest international standards and equipped with solar streetlights, Hosni informed.
Work is underway to construct a waterfront in Dibba, 20 per cent of which is complete. “Spread over 1,285sqm, the waterfront will have a number of facilities, including a barrier to protect the project from waves, a walkway, facilities for sports, children’s games, sites for entrepreneurs, car park along the beach, green spaces, landscaping, sitting areas, and an open-air theatre.”
Another landmark project on the anvil in the governorate is the Bassa Beach in Khasab. In September 2020, National Development and Investment Company (ASAAS) inked a usufruct agreement with the Office of Minister of State and Governor of Musandam to develop the project.
